    Default getting along!!

    Hey ladies,

I was wondering how your kids get along with there step grand-parents, do they accept them and treat them the same as the other grandkids and how do the kids take to them? it can sometimes be another hurdle to cross in blended familys.

    cheers....jo

My DD is from a previous relationship (young and naieve I was but love her to death). Ive since remarried and have a 2yo son and another on the way due in sept. My DH mother treats both of my kids the same way. She is great with both of them. Me on the other hand is another story altogether. .

Sorry, I didn't see this post

My dp's parents are great with my kids. They do treat them very much like their own(my DPs daughter is their only grandchild). They see my kids and do more with my kids than they do with their real dads parents.

They are wonderful people with very big hearts

My parents accept DSS as if he is 'theres'. When my mum calls she talks to both the boys. Everything is equal with the boys, be it presents or treats etc when we go there. And we live with my dad so of course he does too.

MIL and FIL treat my DS as if he is theres as well. Exactly the same as my parents.. phone calls they talk to both boys, presents are always equal for both of them, they have sleepovers where they both stay occasionally.

Equal all round basically. There is a little bit of 'favourtism' from my dad to my son because it was just me, dad and zach for so long but there is the equal amount for MIL and DSS because DSS and DP lived with them til DD was born... only minor tho

It,s funny because my mum and dad treat all the kids the same and to them there is no half bro or step bro ****, they love them all sooooo much and never even mention the fact the older 2 have there dad and ethan is rods child! to them they are loved all the same.........it,s funny because cody even said to me that rod has been his dad longer then his real dad and thats what counts....my parents think the sun shins from rod,s behind anyway....lol but it,s like we have all been together from day dot now.....dont get me wrong theres been some tough times, but i found with rod after we had ethan he finally understood what it,s like for real and how you would lay down and die for your child and your whole blendied family

I just LOVE my DP's mother to bits!!! She had her 2 children later in life, after an arranged marriage (she's Polish).

Although she's 74 now (& her DH has passed), she didn't get to experience being a grandmother until me & my DD arrived on the scene. Straight away my DD has called her Bapcia & I call her Mum... & she lives with us!!!

Her 'biological' grandchild is due next month (by my DP's sister) & I just know my DD will still be fussed over just as much!
