Default rolling, creeping and waking - 5mths

Up until about 2 weeks ago when my daughter learned to roll over she was a great little sleeper and would mostly sleep all night log.
Now when I put her into bed he first thing she does is roll over. She does seem quite comfy sleeping on her belly and will go straight to sleep. However, during the night she manages to creep right the way up to the top of the cot. When she can't get any further and knocks her head against the end she will wake up very irritated and difficult to settle back to sleep. The only way is the only way is with some milk but I know by the 2nd or 3rd time she can't be hungry any more
it seems to be getting progressively worse and last night she woke 4 or 5 times. I have thought about using a bumper around the cot but I still think she would get to the point where she can't get any further and still wake up. I find myself watching her during the night to see when she is getting close to the end and then moving her back down the cot again.
I am getting next to no sleep and also have a three year old to contend with during the day so naps are not an option to catch up on sleep.
I know it is just a developmental thing but can't see how she will be able to move herself backwards for quite sometime.
Has anyone experienced anything similar ad found a way to help things??

    Hi camlea,

YES...my boy is 6 months old, and rolls over on his tummy in the night, but can't sleep on his tummy, so he plays for ages...then gets irritated cause he wants to go back on his back, so i am forever rolling him on his back, only for him to go on his tummy again. I am up and down with him...he doesn't get comfy on his tummy to sleep on...i wish he did.

Apparantly there is something called Safe T Sleep, which is a strap that keeps then in the same position, I am a bit worried to use it, not sure if he would like being strapped in.

Its so frustrating...I know its a development thing, but ARGH!!!

and yes, my DS also travels to the end of the cot and gets stuck in the corner..!!!!

You can get a few different products to stop bubs from rolling I know Big W and the likes have a pretty basic one. It's like two round foam cushions attached to each end of a piece of material. Bubs lies on the material and the foam cushion things snuggle into bubs sides stopping them from rolling..

    Does that make sense?

    Heya,
Just to let you know, I got the Safe T sleep and it's a godsend...
I really needed it for when we were making the move from bassinette to cot..he couldn't handle all that extra space around him...
before I got it, baby would crawl around, flip over and keep going and going..it was like he didn't know how to stop and would look at me as if to say...help me...
No more worrying if he has rolled onto his face
as I have to still wrap him too, as he has wandering hands that keep him awake, but he knows now, wrap and safe T sleep and its business
    Its the best
