To breastfeed or not!

After my first two babies, I had decided that breastfeeding was not for me at all. I had attachement problems as well as cracked nipples etc and it would take 1 - 2 hours to feed every 3 hours. Right before having my third, DH talked me into giving breast feeding one last go so I did, and boy was it a completely different experince to my previous attempts. I have enjoyed it this time from the very first feed, despite having myself prepared to say I tried, but oh well, bottles for you! It has been so much easier than I could have ever imagined and the bonding, for me is far more intimate. I use to despise women who went on about how wonderful breast feeding was, but now that I have experienced it first hand, I know why you want to tell the world about it!...

Just needed to get that out!

How wonderful for you and thank you for sharing. I had a horrible time with DD1 and even worse with DD2 so I wasn't going to try too hard when and if we have #3. Thanks to you I will go into it with the thought that it may actually all work!

That's a wonderful story! It's great to see positive posts like that

My best friend has just been through a similar experience - horrible time with her first (born early by c/section....drama after drama) and only breastfed for a few weeks. With her second she came to it with the attitude that she would go straight to formula at the first sign of a problem.

This babe was born at term and she negotiated to breastfeed in recovery etc....three months later she is still going and hasn't had any problems at all...she's loving it.

Makes me all warm and fuzzy

I've surprised myself by actually enjoying breastfeeding too. I could never imagine putting her on a bottle now.
I hope you enjoy your breastfeeding experience for a lot longer.
