Default How did u go about night TT?

DS1 has been day trained for well over a year, but still hasn't mastered staying dry overnight. In the past two weeks we moved to using pullups at night and having milk with dinner rather than after. He was dry for about 3 days and then wet ever since. He says " he didn't get to the toilet in time". I have heard its not a good idea to wake in the night as they then don't get to recognise that they are full and the need to go to the toilet with a full bladder. Just wondering what worked best for you re night training? Should I just move straight to underpants and deal with the wet beds?
    Thanks

My boy is 3 (turns 4 in March) and he had the same problem.
We now make him go to the toilet right before bed...

Hubby said no drinks after 6.00pm but that one just doesn't work.. I just limit his fluid intake

    Good Luck

We went straight to jocks overnight & put the potty in his room so he didn't have to walk the house for the toilet. We only had a few wet nights. When you make the bed use a mattress protector and fitted sheet, then repeat so if there he wets in the middle of the night you don't have to remake the bed

The house is full, the car's full and the bank account's empty

DD is 3.5 and just started night training. We tried earlier but she was not ready.

She does wees before bed, and limit drinks after 6pm.

    Good luck.

We just followed DD's cues....she is almost 4 and only just night trained (still has the odd accident). She was soaked every morning prior to a few months age. She went to the toilet before bed, and didn't have a great deal to drink after dinner, and always only water, but she was still wet. There are things int heir brain that need to 'connect' in order for them to be 'ready' to night train, you can't force it if they aren't ready. MY nephew is 7 and my sis was waking him 2 times a night to go to the toilet and he still had accidents and slept right thought them - his brain just hasn't joined up yet. She let him be soaked every morning for a week to see if he would 'learn' and nope - so she realised that he will do it in his own time.

DD also became pretty adament she WAS wearing her dora undies to bed, and not her sleeping undies (cloth pull-ups) so that was the other sign to me that she was ready....she had some dry nights, and she wanted to. If she wants a drink before she goes to bed, she can have a small cup of water (a cm or 2 in the bottom) as i know how impossible it is to get to sleep if you are thirsty.

Good Luck!! make sure you have 2 waterproof bed sheets, one in the wash and one on the bed if need be!

DD (almost 3) is toilet trained at night but we kind of did it by accident. She was still waking up with a full nappy most mornings, but there were a few nights I forgot to put the nappy on her (because she was wearing undies until bedtime) and whenever I forgot she would wake up dry! We've had... maybe 3 accidents all up.

Our friends toilet trained their daughter when she was 2 the same way- just putting her to bed in undies and putting up with the occasional wet sheets.
