Default Funny things our kids say

My nearly three year old is totally besotted with trucks. He recently watched the offloading of the trucks off the ferry and at the same time learnt what a truck was called (ie: not a 'big car')

However, he can't pronounce 'tr' - it comes our 'fr'. Now he is constantly pointing out the window of the car, buses, whatever, yelling, "Look Mummy, Fruck!". Occasionally, he drops the 'r'!

I do hope everyone around us doesn't think we've taught him THAT word and realises what he's trying to say!

Has anyone else found their little ones mispronouncing words and creating quite naughty words in return?

my stepson has some beauties that he comes out with...

his best one is tickeling... this comes out as Killing....

nothing worse than sitting in a park when a 4 yr old says at the top of his lungs "i killing you!"

I must admit I am oh so proud that my son says "truck" very well. The worse that happens is he says "tuck".

It is the word "frog" that comes out a little wayward. He pronunces it "frok" and well I guess we all know what that sounds like!!

He also tends to use the word "not" instead of "no". I guess that is the cool way of doing things, not.

    Can't blame them for trying!!!

    Default Fantastic

DD1 used to mispronounce "fantastic" sooo cutely. It ALWAYS came out as "fancaskit". She was using it so often we used it on her 3rd birthday invitations. Its a little bit sad that she's learnt how to say it properly now (but "yellow" is still "lellow" ).

    Cheers

    Default Shhhhh

DD1 often says "sh" instead of "s" in her words, which is cute when it is "shnake" but not so cute when she is telling her mother to "sit"......

The funniest thing (in hindsite) to come out of my dd's mouth was when she was facinated with the vacuum cleaner at home.
However, it's a big word for a 2 yo to say & one day we were in Harvey Norman testing out a potential purchase & out came a very excited "vukka kweena!"
As two people who've never used the "F" word in their lives, imagine one very mortified mummy & daddy gob smacked in front of a sales assistant!
