    Exclamation Drowning prevention...

I saw this video and now really need to know how to teach Esme to do it:

Any ideas where I can find lessons like this in Melbourne?

I don't know where you could find it out

but infantaquatics (a youtube user) seems to have instructional video's on it.

I'd look it up if i were you. Even if you can't get help with it. at least you could try and teach her yourself.
(ETA:sorry, it looks like they're just practicing it, not teaching how to learn to do it)

But am i the only one who can't believe they didn't have a fence around the pool

I want my son to learn that also, swimming lessons are so important. I no of a good swim school in melbourne (in in melb) but dont no anywhere that teaches wats on the video.

Makes me feel sick thinking about all the babies/ toddlers and children who have drowned. brings me to tears.

It seems like such a sensible thing; you'd think it would be taught widely.

I think its great yes but I really do think people may become reliant on the fact that their child has 'skills' ... I know most would still be vigilent etc but there wouldnt be many who would relax too much & feel that their child is protected.

Those are all optimal scenarios where nothing has gone wrong, the sad thing is it can, very easily so this skill may be rendered useless.

This along with lessons of course are still a great idea especially if you own a pool but for me they still arent enough iykwim.
