Do I get another cot or a toddler bed? Help me decide :D

Ok I have a bit of a delima, DD's cot is about to fall apart, so need to get something asap, she's 16mths old, not walking,

now do I buy another second hand cot, or buy a toddler bed (btw her bedroom is small so thats why the toddler bed, would've just thought about buying a single bed instead otherwise)

what would you do? cot or toddler bed, or maybe even a cot that turns into a toddler bed?

If you aren't going to have anymore bubbas then I would just get a single bed.

Lol, sorry.....I mean a toddler bed!!! or a convertible one, but I guess they are exxy...maybe justifiable if you are going to have another one down the track....argh, I dunno.........someone else answer!!

Seeing as she is so little, and not walking, you wouldnt want her falling out of a bed, so i would go for another cot, shes gonna be in it for a while yet anyway

I have x3 boori cots that convert to toddler beds...VERY small rooms here!!

I figure they will fit in them til an age that they will be able to go into a loft bed (too young now).

The good thong about the convertible is you will always have the cot there if you or someone in your family or friends need a cot/ toddler bed in the future.

Depends how much you wanna spend too...the boori ones start around $500 but you can get som,e cheaper convert. ones from Ikea - not the same quality obviously.

*edit*...My DS1 went into his toddler bed version of the cot when he was about 15 months as my pregnant belly was too big to lift him in and out of the cot with the rail there....It has little rails on the side to stop them rolling out. Took a little bit more effort to keep him in there, but there was less crying as I was able to sit on the side of the bed with him rather than lean over the rail and have him standing up to try and get out.

yeah thats what I was thinking Mel, she's going to be in it for a while, but in saying that, she's showing signs of being a climber lol

oh I don't know, this is too hard lol, part of me says buy a bed, make her grow up quicker and save money, but the other half of me is saying, no get a cot, she's too small, not walking, and mentally I don't think she's ready to be in a bed and stay there and go to sleep

i've got a cot on my watchlist, it turns into a toddler bed, so thats a idea (looks like it will turn into a hideous toddler bed though with high sides lol) its at $40, not sure how much to bid on it though, cause it will kill 2 birds with one stone though

FITB $500 is a bit much for what I want to spend, are there any other brands that are cheaper? I do like the idea of a convertable one

DS was in his cot until after 2 1/2.
DD is still in her cot and is 23 months.

I think you would still get tons of use out of a cot.
