    Cool gross motor development delay

Hi I posted a thread another thread to see if there was other parents out there with pre term babies that were termed with cerebral palsy. My 6th child was born at 24 weeks and had a stroke on his second day of life while only weighing 550grams. This year he turns 2 and is coming up with some major motor development delays, the specialist are talking about cp but not yet diagnosed, I would love to hear from any one that has come across similar problems and is there many of us?

    Hey there

My DD miki has major gross developement delays also, She already had delays but after a major metobolic crisis last year she actualy regresses with her gross motor skils

We are stil not sure on the CP diagnosis either I am hopeing to find out on thursday at the neuro apointment what his final decision is on CP or not, Miki wasnt premie she was born at 35 weeks ( so only a tiny bit prem) but she has many medical issues that complicate the CP diagnosis KWIM

Yer thats a walking frame in the picture, that was in her better days she isnt able to use that one anymore she not has another one with a full hip harness, but she mainly only uses her wheelchair, Although she did some standing and walking today in it, Miki doesnt have the calapers she just has AFOs,

Is your DS able to crawl of sit up etc, whats the rest of his developement like

Does he have any other issues related to being a Micro premmie

Deleyed teeth growth only got 6 and hes 2 in march( 20 months corrected then) Baby talks still few words, eyes are great as is hearing. We do get lots of bronch probs and prob with weight only 8.5kg. But constantly losing an gaining. when fist home had rickets which is brittle bones but is all good now. The cartlidge is still hardning in his ear too its really soft when born so young luckily his eyes were open when born

DD has mild CP she was full term but had probs with birth and had sezuries for first week. She sat up after her first birthday and can't walk yet at 18 months.

What milestones has he achived? I like to look at it as getting to have my baby a baby for abit longer then most. That's a really sweet way of looking at it but it does grow a bit old when you see other kids her age running around.
