    Default Early Intervention

    Good thing or Bad

What are your views on this?

What a good responce.. i guess i will just relate it to me and my family then.. my son has autism... does that help your answer?? He doesnt talk gets very over welmed when out and about.. and now in the car too. so behavior is one, talking and also were hoping he will stop flinching when his sister touches him. (however he will touch her but only when he wants to)

Are you talking about for behaviour, for not reaching milestones, birth, health problems...what? I'll answer if I know what the question is

Without understanding the question, I'd have to say it would have to be judged on a case by case basis, it's not a black and white issue.

I mentioned most of my opinions in the other thread....

I think, if it wasnt for EI, the little autistic boy i was nannying for in New York, wouldnt be as outgoing as he is today.

I think EI is a wonderfull thing!

Not just for ASD kids but for children with all sorts of other issues as well.

DS is in early intervention programs at the mater and I am hoping they will make a big difference.

I think Early Intervention is FANTASTIC!!!

I did my final Prac in an Early Childhood Developmental Program attached to a QLD State School and saw Early Intervention programs being delivered for children as young as 18months and with all different types of special needs.

Many of these children had ASD and I felt that the program did WONDERS for them!

There was also a HUGE noticable difference in the 5 year old who had been attending since he was 18months and the 5 year old who had only been attending for 6months!

I hope it helps you and your son! It is by no means a miracle/quick fix but I think you will find it incredible!

EJ sees a psychologist to improve her concentration and listening - she's also going to start speech therapy shortly (been on the waiting list a while). The work with the psychologist has really helped her so I think it is a very good thing with the early intervention.

Its better to try and help problems children have early before they start kinder and school where the problems maybe could not be dealt with as effectively or have become more deep set by that age etc
