I usually grab an old towel.. and use some washing liquid.. or even better "sard wonder soap".. with plenty of hot water... does the trick for me

This is the solution for cream on green carpet so wont hurt you trying it.

What to use:Detergent, old toothbrush, paper towel, or dry cleaning fluid, cotton ball talcum powder, vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner.

How to apply: Attack the proteins first. Mix enough detergent in cold water to generate a sudsy mix and apply with an old toothbrush. Thendry with paper towel. Remove the fats with detergent suds mixed in hot water. Apply the suds only to the stain with the toothbrush, then dry with a paper towel.

An alturnative is drycleaning fluid applied with a cotton ball. Sprinkle talcum powder over the drycleaning fluid to absorb it. Then vacuum. To get rid of the smell use carpet cleaner.
(I think white spirits is pretty much the same as drycleaning fluid)

When we have a "carpet emergency" I hire a carpet cleaner from woolies or similar (big blue machine). They are about $28 extra for cleaning liquid and you have it for 24hrs its so easy to use.

Where do you get dry cleaning fluid from? I've been trying to get a hold of some for a while now. Milk stains (milky spew stains), I clean them with amonia and you'd never think there was ever a stain there. Top stuff.

I think white spirits ispretty much the same as dry cleaning fluid (or so my mum says) so probably woolies or coles.

    Default carpet stains

    hi there

I have found that preen carpet shot works great, even for old stains. It costs about 7 bucks but it really works.

Yes, Preen for carpets is great. It doesn't smell particularly good but it DOES work.
