    Default Warning about Steelcraft portacot

I was at Target today returning something and the woman next to me was returning a Steelcraft portacot because it had collapsed on the baby while the baby was in it!!! The saleswoman was very helpful and said very calmly that this was the third one that they had had returned to them for the same reason. I butted in and commented on how outrageous this was and had they reported it and she said that they had heard nothing back from Steelcraft yet.

So - if you are looking at buying one, maybe rethink the decision and if you have one - be careful!

    Hi

I bought a Steelcraft 4 wheeler pram when I had my daughter 2 years ago. The wheels kept falling off when I was pushing my daughter around so I brought it back to the shop where I bought it from and demanded a refund because it was not safe. The store gave me credit and I bought a Jeep 3 wheeler which is so much better.

I'll keep that in mind when I go to buy a portacot.

I have a 3 year old Steelcraft portacot and it had toughed it out through much jumping and effort from my DS.

Sounds like maybe it is a particular model?

I have a really old portacot (probably five years older than JAck) and he definately tests it out ...

the only time it has ever even come close to collapsing - was cause I didn't click one of the arms properly (and JAck wasn't in it .. cause I thrash it around beofre I let him in it .. )

it must have been a dodgy model - was it ever recalled???

Heavens - the original post on here by me was almost 2 years ago - I am sure that any cots people are buying now are fine and that it was a particular model problem at the time.
