Default How many people got a dvd of their ultrasound at a routine 18-20 week scan?

I'm just wondering how common it is to get a video (dvd) of the ultrasound at a routine 18-20 week ultrasound scan. Years ago I was able to take a video in and get the ultrasound recorded, but with my son, they said no. I don't know if policies have changed or they charge you for it now. Just curious how many people got one? I did not have one with my last pregnancy. But I would like one this time.

It depends on the place. At the hospital I've been they don't give you video for legal reasons but are happy to give you pics on a cd.

I got pics and some video footage on a CD at my hospital but had to pay $10. Glad I did, as DH didn't get to see any of it due to DS being a bit grumpy.... lol

Seems like a lot of places don't do it now. I would be happy to pay. But they don't even give you that optoin around here (southside brisbane). So I am getting an extra ultrasound done at 28 weeks at precious previews. I will pay for it, but i'll get dvd and photos and get to see him/her on the big screen with up to 10 of my guests..wohooo!

I go for my ultrasound friday and it's just your basic free scan. I won't even get a photo from it.

My OB refers to a private clinic, and we took a video in for DD (4years ago) and they gave us a DVD for DS. This time we also got a DVD of the 12weeks scan, and will for the 20week (in 2 weeks - YAY!!). It's $280 for the scan though, we get some back from medicare, but there is a heap out of pocket too. He is a brilliant specialist though, so worth it for our piece of mind (irrespective of gettng the DVD or not!)
