Default Who is starting their weightloss journey today 1-1-2009

Hi Ladies, Im Kayla, 19 and have a gorjus 8 mth old DS named Jaylen, im sick of being over weight and today my journey of weightloss starts.

I use to have a great body but now i feel so bad about myself, eva since i become pregnant i put on weight at a fast rate and after the birth of my son i didnt do anything to get it off, insted i kept putting it back on due to over eating and not excerising.

I want to look good, feel better about myself and be more healthy but im scared i cant do it alone.

Anyone else want to come on my long and hard journey with me.

    Any thread i can join?

    Hey Kayla!

Congrats on taking that first step! I too have decided that this IS the year for me! It HAS to be!

I havent had a bub, as you know, but have struggled with my weight my whole life! I know that I just LOVE food too much and DONT love excersise enough!

What are your plans for fighting off the weight?! I have been a Uni student for the past 4 years and feel that the freedom to eat whenever and whatever I want has contributed to my weight! I also believe that during busy or stressful times (close to exams) I ate a lot of takeaway and unhealthy food because it was quick and easy!

I know I HAVE to change my lifestyle! And am hoping that now I hve a full time job in a VERY small town with NO takeaway will help all of this!

As for the excersising...I have to be honest...I hate it! Im not motivated to get out there and do it myself...I know I need someone to excersise with so am hoping I will find that!

Kayla - I know the feeling, 4-months ago I was 95kg due to gaining heaps during my pregnancy due to uncontrolled eating. I was 62kg before I fell pregnant.

The thing that annoyed me the most is 3-years ago I lost 20kgs and I basically regained that and more in the space of 9-months!

Well so far I've lost 23kg since August (note: I'm no longer breastfeeding though) and though xmas has stalled this I'm pretty keen to lose another 12kg to get to my goal weight! The other weight-loss thread where you posted will help you heaps, has helped me for sure!

Kayla - thanks, funny enough I'm struggling to get motivated at the moment, bit of a couch potato. The gym idea is really good and will definitely give you more leeway with food as well. When I'm motivated I jump on my treadmill, go for a walk or use the Wii Fit.

I found cutting out or reducing sugary drinks was a huge help. I drank a lot of softdrink and juices, now I try to drink more water and maybe have 1 sugary drink (juice). If you like diet beverages even better (I hate these unfortunately). A lot of people forget about beverages but they contribute to hidden calories.

Also snacking on healthy stuff when your peckish like celery and carrot sticks, fruit, tuna, low-fat/sugar yoghurt and biscuits. Cutting out junkfood is definitely a big one. I've been calorie counting which I told myself I'd never do but its made me more aware of bad foods and has worked.

Just a few things I found helpful.

Thanks Kayla! I hope so too!

The TINY town Im moving too has a Cultural and Communuity Centre so I am hoping they do some sort of aerobic classes or even have a gym there! They also have a town pool so Im thinking early morning swims could be the way to begin!

I think staying away from the junk will be easier in this TINY town! They only have one grocery store and its the size of a general store!

Are you going to chart your food and excersise in a diary or anything like that?! How are you going to motivate yourself?! Thats where I continually fall down! I get motivation...then loose it!

MisheyCat - Well Done! Your def an inspiration to me!

    Oh dear - ME!

I actually started the day I started holidays - 23 December - as I didn't want to have to lose any Christmas weight. So far I've lost 2kgs and have at least another 36 to go.

I've been overweight my entire life bar one short 6 month stint where I actually reached 64 kgs - and that was about 15 years ago

We got a Wii for Christmas (it tells me I'm obese - well der!) and I've also got my pushbike up and running (ha ha figure of speech).

I want to lose at least 5kgs all told by 12th when I go back to work, and hopefully 2 more before DD's birthday.

I'm targeting family occassions to have lost a goal weight by.

This will be a huge struggle for me. After I've lost some, I'll probably do weight watchers or something.

    Hey I am starting today.

I had 3 pregnancies in 2.4 years. I love my 3 bubbas dearly but know they are the main cause Of my massive weight gains.

I want to loose about 40 Kg. According to my BMI I will still be a couple kilos of my BMI rage. but I know my body and I weigh heavy. (have done since a lil baby. Born 9'6 looked bout 7 pound.) Even to this day people don't believe me If I tell them how much I weigh. The G-H boobs and massive hips don't help the situation.

Mum used to always say to me u have boobs hips and an apple bum you schould be so happy with your body type. All I can say is that is all good when your skinny but as soon as you gain weight it goes straight to the worst areas. lol

i'm trying.... this year I want to finally feel PROUD of myself and losing weight will be the best thing I could do for myself. I'm at the point where I feel my life is at risk if I gain anymore weight

My 30th Birthday is in 7 1/2 weeks and I'm HOPING to have lost 15kg by that time. I know that sounds like a huge amount but seriously at my weight I really can lose 2kg a week with no health issues. All up though I want to lose more like 50kg this year. If I can be 50kg lighter by next xmas, i'll be VERY VERY happy!!
