Default I should just wait for the dr....shouldn't I?

DS (20months) has woken this morning with horrible laboured breathing and a temp. The temp came down straight away with Dymadon, and apart from being a tad clingy when he first woke up he is acting fine. Running around playing, eating, drinking etc. His nappy was soaked and his (TMI warning) poo was normal. He has had bronchitis before, and it sounds similar to that....so we have a drs appt at 11:15 to have him checked out....but i feel bad making him wait until then, like I am neglecting him. I KNOW i should wait for the dr, but that paranoid mum bit is playing up and part of me wants to rush him off to the hospital ED. I KNOW that clogging up emergency with cases that can be treated by a GP isn't the right thing to do.....so I guess I just need some reassurance that waiting for the GP at 11 is the right thing to do. His lips aren't blue, and he's not upset or crying.....so he'll be fine...won't he....

If teh temp went down and the breathing is not getting worse.. Ahhhh.. Its so hard.. Don't blame u one bit.. Trust Ur Gut Tan. U know the right thing to do Hope He's feeling MUCH better soon.. (I'd Ring GP and let them know u worried, they might be able to fit him in earlier?)

Breathing issues are something that need to be watched very closely. if there is any sign at all of it getting worse head to ED - that kinda thing they take you in quicker for. dont wait for the lips to turn blue. watch his chest and see how hard he has to work for his breath.

Have a look at his chest and if you can see his ribs when he is trying to draw in breath just take him straight to the ED.

Thanks - I can't see his ribs, and it's not getting worse. He came up before with a DVD and asked for thomas, then a biscuit, and he just found a christmas present that is a santa with jelly beans and desperately wants me to open that for him. I think if he'd just sit still for 5minutes he might have a chance to catch his breath a little!! Crazy boy! Only an hour and a half until we leave, heres hoping it doesn't get worse as we wait.
