Default where to buy a Fridge?

Last month my folks decided to buy a new fridge, at which stage they said they would give me their old ones (they had 2, under 2 yrs old but wanted a bin freezer and seperate one door fridge).

Originally they were going to pay a courier that said he'd bring it up with another delivery to the area for $150, but then he decided t would cost $380 and they said get stuffed!

anyway, they've sold their fridges now for $500 for both, and have decided since they technically gave me the fridges already, that its my money (very very generous actually, and they normally hate giving anything lol, so very very kind of them!) and that they'll put it towards a new fridge for me - if i can find one before they spend the money

So i have one week to find a new fridge, i can put a little towards it myself if need be, but does anyone know of anywhere we could find a fridge for around $500? can i get a new fridge for under $1000? or should i be looking second hand (would LOVE a new one - i've never ownd a new fridge or wshing machine!)

    thanks guys, caitlin

i would think you could find a small new one for around $500 and decent sized family fridge for around $1000. i think harvey norman or domayne have some prices for fridges online..check them out
