Default How to ask her to marry me?

    hi

So I want to ask my longterm girlfriend to marry me, but I'm not sure of the best way to do it. I want it to be perfect and special for her. She is a bubhub member and the mother of my 2 children. I dont want to state her username in case she reads it or somebody tells her

What is a really romantic way of proposing? I love this woman so much. We are young parents and she is the strongest person I know.

Also I am yet to buy the ring. I know she likes princes cut diamonds but white or yellow gold? She wears both? She is young (20) so what is more fashionable? I am thinking of spending around 2000, can I get something really nice for that ammount?

I figured its best to ask ladies about this stuff!

Aww, that's so sweet I suppose every woman finds different things romantic, but by the beach, or in the spot where you met/got together, or even at a classy restaurant is always a winner.

As for the ring, I love the princess cut too. It's quite modern but still very classy imo. The problem is that being princess cut, the stone will be big and be expensive.

How soon are you thinking of proposing? Is a christmas day proposal too soon for you?('cause I think that's really romantic), although you'd get a better deal on a ring in the after christmas sales.

Awwwww.... that's so SWEET I was going "awwwwww" before I even read your post, lol. Um... my dh took me to a restaurant and ahd them write in chocolate sauce on my desert plate, "Marry me Sara" and then presented the ring- it was very sweet, not sure how original but very very sweet! We had 2 children too (also young parents) and were 1 day off having our 3rd!!

I hope you think of something wonderful but you know what? However you do it she is going to LOVE it anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh with the ring- white gold and hopefully you'll get some great sales over xmas, I'd wait til then- mine was $1800 (18 carat white gold, princess cut one solitaire) i think down from about $2300 so you should get something great for that!

Try and get the kiddies involved somehow .... Make sure they dont blab though.. but that would make it special. Perhaps you could make signs and surprise her somewhere by holding them up ....

I agree, go to a manufacturing jeweller and HAGGLE!

You'd be surprised what you can get for the money if you dont go down to the jwelery supermarket stores....

Even better, give her a ring box with an IOU in it with a date to go see the jeweller and let her pick her own. After all she has to wear it for a long time and you want her to get exactly what she wants don't you?

New years eve would be nice...take her out for a really good dinner somewhere in the city, go see the fire works and propose...new year...new start...new life! That way it can be a complete surprise as she will think it's just a new years eve night out.
