Default Gel Pads for Knee Support

Hi guys...I did start a thread about this a while ago, but now it's gone, and I need the info so I can prepare for our waterbirth!!

Where can you get gel pads for the bottom of the bath to protect your knees?

If not those, any other mat type things that protected your knees and where you can get them!!

Anyone ever sat back during a waterbirth? I was on my knees last time, but I saw some youtube vids where they were sitting back. It looked more comfortable...Any thoughts??

Just a suggestion that I've heard/seen many people mention is save your money on your 'gel pads' and just use some folded up towels under your knees - they're plenty soft enough when full of water Thats all I'm planning on using (in the tub at hospy!)

I floated on my side the whole time - I tried kneeling but it felt too intense. I think I wanted to look at the wall and pretend I was anywhere but there

Life may not always be the party we hoped for but since we are here, we might as well dance.

another suggestion, is getting some foam offcuts, they only need to be big enough for your knee's to rest on, or you may be able to get one a little bit bigger so you can sit down on it, cause I know when I was preg and in labour if I was sitting down and laying back a little my tail bone hurt like hell (probably why I like the kneeling position better

hey i had a water birth last year and for my next ill be doing the same!!

i started out on my tummy floating around trying all different positions, but in the end i was laying back .

cant say it was better or worse as i have nothing to compare it to but it was bearable and was definalty to most comfortable for me
