It really depends
Anything with caffiene (tea, coffee) then no.
Herbal tea, yes, infact both my kids love chamomille tea.
We only have soft drinks occasionally and only lemonade without preservatives, so DS has 1/3 lemonade and the rest soda water as a special treat (probably once a month)
We don't do juice either, so really we are pretty boring at our house................but when it comes to food, that's another story![]()

coffee, tea, - NOi wouldnt, they are for grown up, NOT children.
soft drink- ekkk its full of sugar.
Juice- is fine, in little amounts.

When dd is old enough to ask me for a taste, yes I would dip my finger. It would only be the tinyest amount anyway. Chances are they won't like coffee etc. anyway, I thought it was feral first time I tried it lol.
I voted 'other'.
DD is allowed herbal teas/infusions as they are naturally caffiene free and have different health properties depending on the herb (peppermint good for tummy, chamomile good for relaxing etc). Black and green teas, no. They contain caffiene and no one we knows drinks them anyway.
Coffee, I drink water decaffinated coffee and while I don't condone it or let her, DD has snuck the last dribble from my cup, but being decaff I don't freak out, if it were caff, NO WAY!
Juice, not in this household and same goes for softdrink, both are and will be big no-no's for a long time! Full of sugar with NO nutritional benefits.

Coffee and soft drinks are a complete no.
However I will give Jayden the last sip of a cup of tea occasionally (I rarely drink it anyway unless they are both in bed) and juice is a sometimes thing and is always diluted.
Hasn't been a problem here.![]()
DD has "Tea" hot water milk and the teabag dunked once so she sees it, no coffee (except the foam off the top of a cap) and If I really feel like a softdrink she gets her own in a glass (which is mainly water with a tiny splash - usually I drink pepsi max so just enough to give it a tiny bit of colour)
A bit naughty but at least what she is getting is mostly water and she is happy rather than a big fight over a tiny splash.

There is an instinct in a woman to love most her own child - and an instinct to make any child who needs her love, her own. ~Robert Brault,
I don't see what the problem is with dipping your finger in a drink like softdrink etc.?
We aren't talking about giving them a whole cup, the OP said dipping a finger for a taste.
Coffee...nope..to them it's for grown ups, same as alcohol. Anything else if fine for a tatse/treat. Oh, all the kids have a cuppa tea every morning.
