Love the weather- although I don't think we got hit with the storm Bathurst did yesterday. The snow was not so crash hot. I had a lack of warm clothing for Anna- she's grown out of her 00's & I figured I wouldn't have to buy any 0's in winter gear. But we survived.

I had a false alarm with a client going into labour- which would have been nice in a hot birth pool- but twas not to be- not yet anyway

OMG it is pouring down at the moment . Thank god I did the errands before it started. Its so windy and heavy and yesterday it actually hailed. Nice 10c piece sized lumps I ended up stuck with a sleeping baby in the car. Could've been worse he could've been awake. lol

Im expecting it to blackout any minute...

    deesalie.

Sorry I didnt come back. That storm was wicked!

I was going to say. I didnt know that there were doulas in this area. I was thinking of getting a doula for my next pregnancy/labour seeing as this one went so left field. (Not that I plan to have anymore but still)

How do you find the work? How do you find working in a country area?

    Javalava hope you're keeping well

I'm actually the only "official" doula west of the mtns. And I love supporting women in one of their most intimate moments... particularly homebirths... too many hospital policies to deal with otherwise, which do nothing but hinder birth.

As far as working in a country area is concerned... it's neither here nor there... c/sec rates are increasing everywhere (Orange's are on the rise AGAIN) Homebirth is now becoming a valid, safe option & we have some great experienced homebirth midwives to help, where as homebirth used to be a dirty word! All in all, it's very liberating work! Crappy hours though :lol

I am so envious of you ladies. i used to live down that way, in a tiny little town called Eugowra. You may know it. I miss the country lifestyle.
