Default 10 days post op - bleeding stopped and restarted!

I had an elective c/s 10 days ago and bleeding was very minimal. After a week i was down to liners with virtually nothing for the past two days. This afternoon, after a big day of shopping etc with my toddler, I have bright red bleeding. At this stage only enough to soak a liner. Have I just over done it or do you think there's something wrong?

This happens with normal vaginal birth too.

If you push yourself, this is your bodies way of telling you to slow down and rest.

Not a problem, excepting that you are going too hard.

Thank god!!! I am normal!!!! or we are both having the same problem!!
I posted exactly the same thing in the November chat asking advice from my cyber pals. I was down to almost nothing until yesterday when I had a big gush of bright red. It had almost stopped again today. I though imust have torn some internal stitches or something!

Thanks NibbleCurlynBun - I thought that might have been the case. It was a bit of a shock to see bright red blood again but I didn't want to call my Ob. Thank god for this site I say

Kezza, we had our c/s at the same time, same day (just opposite sides of the country) - hope yours went well - i've posted about mine under The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - an elective c/s. Would love to hear your story too.

With the bright red blood, just keep an eye on yourself for any abdominal pain/tenderness (aside from around the wound) or any general feeling of yuckiness. It's common around 2 weeks post-op for infection to occur, where some membranes have been left behind. A course of a/b's takes care of it though, so it's not too nasty.

I'm not saying this is the case for either of you, but if the bright red bleeding continues or you get any clots, give your Ob a call. I'm sure it's nothing though.

Thanks Mrs Potts It is something I am definitly concerned about happening but thankfully at this stage I think it was just one of those things.

I bled alot after my last c-section..off and on for the first 5 weeks! I saw the doctor at 3 weeks and he sent me for a scan which revealed everything was fine..but I had already ovulated and got my period without even getting break from the lochia! So as long as your your not going through more than one pad an hour...dont have a fever or severe pain (this is what I was told) try not to worry and get plenty of rest!
