    Default Contactions stopped

I has contactactions every 6 min lasting 60 sec for 4 hours last night. I went to the hospital an they told me to go for a walk for 2 hrs. Instead, i went home to bed and when I woke up this morning the contractions had stopped.

    What shoudl I do ?

    Thx, Jill

This can happen for a little while yet but the best thing to do is to try & go for a good walk every day to help bring the labour on but it sounds like your in pre-labour atm where you body is warming up for the main event. dont worry too much your body pretty much knows what its doing but if at any time you feel like your unsure about anything or the likes then call the hospital thats what the midwives are there for ! Trust me we have all made the million phonecalls about different things etc & its always good to have them put your mind at ease.
For now get as much sleep & rest you can because your going to need all the energy you can muster pretty soon !
    Good luck

Make a cup of tea, get some rest and wait for your body to tell you what's next.

You're going to be a mummy pretty soon.

You can try every old wives tale under the sun but still bub isn't going to come till it's ready unfortunately! That sucks dosn't it!

Here are a few old wives tales you could try though:
    • Nipple Tweaking
    • Sex
    • Curries
    • Walking
    • Walking with one foot on the curb the other on the road! (don't ask)!
    • Castor Oil (hmmmm I tried that twice, not recommended)!
    • Raspberry Leaf

I have heard good things about Acupuncture or Acupressure in bringing on labour!

nipple tweaking is not that fun- you have to tweak for- I can't remember- but it didn't work for me. I think you tweek for half an hour for 3 hours- but that might not be right.

I'm of the opinion that bubs come when they are ready- I would just rest up as much as you can. Conserve that energy. Have some relax time- I know it is frustrating, but it won't be that long...

    Good luck with your birth
