    Default tempreture question

I have a bit of a dlilema, Miki has had a temp of aprox 38 for 3 days now, and last night it peaked at 38.8, i did give her panadol lost night ( not just cause of the temp I know its the body atemting to fight infection ) because she had one of her terible bowel spasms, but also thought would help the temp, anyway she has woke up with a temp of 38, she is slightly cranky but nothing bad, I cant see any signs of infection around her stomas etc, and she isnt pulling her ears or anything like that and her breathing sounds ok to me, no rashes etc.

So what do you do do you go to the dr for a 38 temp or let its run its course, Im not really up wth the normal baby ilnesses lol

Anyway She has got white blood cell issues, they are really low so her ability to fight infection is low, But on the flip side antibiotics are a double edge sord with her as they wipe out her count even more, pluss the fact she cant have oral antibiotics her have to go in via an iv catheter

So what to do, do i take her to the dr or let it run its course, I know about risk of fits with fevers we have AC meds on hand and she is epileptic to know all them sighs etc

I am not sure with your special needs situation but generally they advise not to give any meds until 39 and to go to the hospital or GPs at 40. No brain damage is done until 42 apparently.

If you dont want to give here a luke warm bath to bring try and bring the temp down..get a lukewarm flannel and wipe her over.

Other suggestion would be maybe ring PMH and see what they say as they would know her case.
I know you dont want to go back to the hospital,I think you've spent enough time there, but no harm in ringing

As they say better to be safe than sorry
