    Default Twins and Teething

    Hi,

Not sure whether to put this here on in the teething section, but am really after the experience of other twin/multiple parents.

When you went through the teething process did your multiples show symptoms for their own teeth or each others? Am asking because our DD2 has just sprouted 2 bottom teeth much to our surprise as she showed no signs, whilst DD1 has been showing a few "classic" signs but still has really soft gums. Do you think it's possible that she is having sympathy pains?

    Thanks heaps!

My mother used to tell me stories of my sister and I getting sympathy pains etc - I don't ever recall with teething though.

With teething though we would mirror each other - my sister would get the bottom left and i'd get the bottom right.

I'm assuming your 2 must be identical. Mine are b/g so no real reason to feel each other's pain. I have noticed that DS seems to go on for weeks looking like a tooth is coming and dribble lots but DD's seem to just pop through!

    Hi,

our twins showed no sympathy pains as far we can tell. Our boy drooled lots and should the classic signs, but he was always the first with each teeth(pref 2-4 at a time......) and our girl, well she pretty cruised thru her teething with the exceptance of her molars....mums fingers were yummy !

We used the drops from Brauer for our boy and that just did the trick for him.

    Goodluck !

    Thanks guys!

Sammi still seems to be showing all the signs but no teeth whereas Nic is breezing along merrily she stays that way!

Mum is always telling me about the sympathy pains her and her twin sister have had throughout their lives, so I guess that is where my thinking came from...

Guess we will just go with the flow and see what happens.

hi twinmummee, my girls did get teeth without me noticing any sympathy pains. Candice my older twin (by four minutes) reached every milestone one month ahead of Veronica except for cutting teeth. veronica was one month ahead of candice for all of the teething time, including looseing the teeth. They have had sympathy pains for other times, but I never noticed it at teething times. Cheers Marie.
