    Default reaction to vaccinations?,.......anyone??

So,...for whatever reason, I delayed Jaspers vaccinations,.... he had his 18month shots on Monday (the chicken pox one), and he has since had a fever,..a really red spotty rash and is generally crusty,.. hmmmm,..reaction to vax or co-incidence?

Has anyone else experienced a reaction to this vax?

as far as i know the chicken pox one is a live virus one so hypertheticly he can catch it from the vax.

Do you mean for six months after the vax or that they appeared 6 months later? DD is due next week and Im starting to reconsider...

They came about half an hour after the vax and stayed for longer than 6 months afterwards.

They appeared to hurt her too if they were touched..

They are gone now.. Thank goodness. But it has been over a year since now..

ETA: SO SO SO Sorry.. Neither of mine had the chicken pox vaccine.. So DD did not react to that.

My daughter had the varicella vaccine 4 weeks ago and she had a fever also. My GP told me that this may be a possible side effect of the vaccine.
It wasn't too serious though - I gave her some children's Panadol and monitored her for several hours and she was fine.
I would contact your GP just to make sure.
I will also point out that none of the other vaccines she has had since birth, have ever given her a fever.

Didn't your GP give you a checklist of possible reactions to look out for after the vaccination?

I'm pretty sure that fever and a rash are one of the listed side effects of the chicken pox vaccine.
