Default What to do with roaming cat that has decided to live at our house

    Hey everyone

Since the night before last some cat has decided to make our home it's home. It is a lovely black cat and it has no collar on it. I didn't feed it yesterday cause figured it must have some home to go to, but gave it some water as it was so hot. Today it was still here meowing about dinner time so i gave it a tin of tuna which the cat just wolfed down, so poor thing was hungry. I am sure it has decided to live here as every other neighbour has dogs and not us, but what do i do about it? I don't want a clayton's pet.

What do i do with it? Just hope it'll go back to it's own home? Or buy some cat food for the poor thing.

That cat would have had me licked by now. I'm a sucker!

I had that happen to me and I cried when the cat eventually disappeared lol.

It might not have a collar, but it might have a microchip. Have a feel around its neck and see if you can feel it...

take it to the rspca...someone might be missing it. (they will scan for a chip)

If you would like it as a pet if no one claims it you can ask them to ring you.

I agree with the others - take it to the RSPCA or your local vet for a microchip scan!

If no one owns it, you can keep it if you want...

Should say, i hate cats, am not a fan at all, i looked at it but that's about it, and fed it, but i hate cats.

What about asking the neighbours first? I really wanna avoid touching the cat....

Can't get a pic my flash isn't working.

...you like them more than me...I usually shoo them (terribly allergic)...they'll lob on someone elses door step I hope.

you could ask the neighbors - they might even be nice enough to take them to the rspca.

It might just be roaming though - did it look sickly? I think if you fed it it will keep coming back.

I agree. And once you give in and feed em..you are sunk! And if you don't like cats, then it's not a good idea to have one around, you will resent it.

Fiveinthebed, i had to read that twice i thought you said you shoot them! haha, Yeah Dh has been trying to chase it away, but it keeps coming back. Didn't want to feed it as i thought now it'll keep coming back, but it was meowing and i thought it was a bit hungry. It's sleeping right outside our back door, least it's not getting wet though, maybe the neighbours don't let it inside or something and it has no shelter to sleep under. I might go and ask the neighbour, who's i think it is.
