Default first time swim in beach/pool. How old?

how old was ur bub the first ime they went into the beach and pool?

I remember with my neice she was probably about 6 weeks and we had her in a brand new little pool in the shade. But I mean a chlorinated big pool at a friends or a town/resort pool?

Also as for the river or beach also...

My bub is 8 months today and has not yet been in a big pool, not because i wouldn't let her, but because of the weather really. She has been to the beach and sat and splashed at about 6 months old and also at about 7 months. She will be in a big pool at Christmas as we are spending Christmas at Nana's and she has an in ground pool.
She has paddled her feet in Nana's pool, but the pool water is still just a tad to cool.
We went away on the weekend and she paddled on the rivers edge, but the sun was out and the water was quite warm.

Are you asking your question because you are worried about chemicals on bubs skin? Or just out of general curiosity? I honestly have never really worried about the chemicals, never thought of it truefully! My MIL pool is salt based anyway but i guess bub will be going to the local pool with the older kids in summer. She also sits in her baby bath on the patio to splash on warm days when the older ones are in there blow up type wading pool.

Hayley was about 14 or 15 months when she was in a pool for the first time and went in the water at the beach for the first time last year (3.5 years).

Skye hasn't been in a pool yet but the whether is getting warmer so we might go down to the local pool soon, she went in the water last year with Hayley she was about 7 months or something.

I want to get Hayley into lessons actually (and Skye too when shes a bit older) but I don't know. I might leave it til shes in school.

DS went to the beach for the first time when he was around 5 months old. He just sat in a shallow pool and splashed.

He was 6 months when he first went into a chlorinated pool.

DD was 5 months old when she went in a pool for the first time. Outdoor pool, not one of those indoor heated cesspools of germs - even now she's 2.5 I just know how full of germs those things must be - she gets sick every time she's been in one. Ocean as often as we can though (although I understand you can catch bugs from there too - i'm not saying my aversion to pools is rational )

yes was a bit worried about the chemicals and I guess an overall lack of info on pros and cons. probably an over cautious first time mum hehe. ds is 4 months and was thinking of signing him up for swimming lessons at 6 months, but was also wondering about the ocean and if it would be okay and not to harsh on bubs skin coz of those little bities that can get you sometimes (sea lice maybe??)

thanks for ur replies everyone its getting so warm nowadays and i was thinking bubs would like to experience a mass of water greater than the bath tub
