I'm wondering if anyone can give me advice in regards to the exceptions of teenage children and noise at night.
We live in the burbs and thus houses are about 2-3mtrs apart. We have recently had new neighbors purchase next door. They have 2 children which I believe the ages are 15 and 11. One boy one girl. In our first 'meet and greet' outside the house we (neighbours and I)both joked we hope our kids weren't too noisey. Well now it's not a joke...
The kids, and their friends, on school holidays are out jumping on the trampoline, laughing and screaming to each other " don't..I'll get you..f*** off etc". Now during the day I won't bat an eye lid (except for the language) , but this starts at 8pm and can go on until 11pm. It also occurs infrequently on weeknights, but winds down around 9.30pm. The noise of the mats on the trampoline are annoying, but that's not the issue, the issue is the noise and the laungage. Now I won't mind if the trampoline was in the front yard, but it's right next to our kids bedrooms and they are in bed by 8pm at the latest.
Am I being unrealistic to expect them not to go on the trampoline past 9pm ?
We haven't spoken to the neighbours yet, because I wanted to get an opinion from parents with teen kids.
What are your thoughts ?
