    Default Sleep school with ncss?

Does anyone know if there's such a thing as a sleep school that doesn't use controlled crying (or any of its variations)?

If so, where can I find it? I'm in Brisbane...

I've been looking for help and the only suggestions I've had from child health nurse/GP/friends/family has been controlled crying.

At almost seven months DD drifts off quietly when fed to sleep but it sometimes takes a very long time. This would be ok if I didn't have a toddler who has to amuse herself quietly (lol) while I'm doing it!

    Any suggestions also gratefully received!

i have no advice, just wanted to share my experiences.i didn't do CC with DD and she was a really bad sleeper till she was 16 mths old (i was up atleast 6 times each night, sometimes getting 2 hrs sleep) but she got to 16 mths and all of a sudden it all fell into place for her. she's 2 this week and she still falls asleep in my arms at night before i put her in her bed, but sleeps all the way through now. i think all these little things come with age. a very wise person told me when i was on the edge of a nervous breakdown a yr ago, "they are babies for such a short amount of time. enjoy these little things they do, as annoying and tiring as they are, you will never have these moments with them again."

this was a turning point for me and ever since DD has slowly improved.

Oh my goodness - Ngala most certainly do use CC.

They call it "giving your baby space to learn the skills to put himself to sleep". They also say not to worry if your baby becomes angry while calling for you because anger is not an emotion to be scared of. Of course if he vomits you can go in with a damp face washer and give him a quick wipe down...........

My friend went to Karitane with her first bub and hated it.

With #2 she went to a place called "bubba hush cottage" in Brisbane. She couldn't speak more highly of it.

apparently the lady who runs it is excellent and very gentle with her methods

    Thanks everyone

I'll check out bubba hush (thank you so much princesslover18 for suggesting it), but apart from that sounds as if we'll just keep struggling on, tear free.

You're right though mumma sienna, I'm determined to enjoy these days - with or without without any sleep between them!
