    Default Anti biotics during pregnancy

Just wondering how many of you out there use them, or avoid them completely.
When I was only 3-4 weeks preggo, my GP prescribed TWO back to back doses because of a threatening chest infection. Now I'm 15 weeks I've found out I've got some probs with my placenta...So not sure if anyone out there agrees it could have something to do with taking those antibiotics when it was so early in my pregnancy.

Now I'm 15 weeks I've got (what I think) is a nasty cold and possibly some type of throat infection (what else would explain the PAIN.)

So I'm guessing the GP will prescribe another lot of "pregnancy safe" antibiotics....yet I'm scared it could worsen the problem with my placenta. I'm sure my GP would deny this....yet you just never know do you??

Having said all THAT, this throat thingy I have isn't going away on it's own....it's REALLY bad. I can tell there's no natural treatment thats gonna fix it.

    So....antibiotics...???

From what I know about antibiotics you should take them when necessary, not taking them will cause more harm than good. So long as you are confidant in your Dr then trust them. if you feel that they'll prescribe antibiotics for anything then seek another opinion. I haven’t read in any of the scientific literature (try Google scholar! it's great for research!) that antibiotics can cause harm so long as they are the ones shown to be safe for pregnancy.

Thanks for that, google scholar was helpful
After being to see the GP today, I'm now on another course of antibiotics ...But I guess it's true that an untreated infection can cause more harm to the baby. See how we go.
