    Default sling for breastfeeding

I have a 3mth old who appears to have colic and reflux. He is a fussy feeder and loves movement and feeds better if I walk! I wondered if anyone could recommend a sling that is good to use for feeding for a 3mth old and also easy to get them in and out of. I don't have much money either so don't want to pay a fortune. Can anyone help?!

    Hiya

    I'd probably go for either:
    - a unpadded ring sling (goes over one shoulder) unpadded is important so you can tighten it up so your bub is upright rather than lying in a cradle position. Once your bub gets bigger and has good head control you can carry them facing outwards, or on your hip. This kind of sling is great for older babies too, up to 14kg usually. Very easy to pop in and out.

    - A wrap type sling- such as a hug a bub- these need to be tied so they take a bit longer to get on, but if it's made of stretchy material such as cotton jersey you can pop a small bub in and out quickly. Probably the most comfortable option but not as easy to feed in as a ring sling as the baby is held snugly against your body.

You can make both of these types yourself- the wrap sling is basically just a long (4-5m) piece of material, about 50-60cm wide.
There are patterns for ring slings on the web too- you can use pretty much any kind of material for these ones.

Check out these websites for more info:

Baba slings are really good, they are comfortable for you to wear and give privacy for breast feeding. However they are around $60, I have one that I don't use anymore in purple which you could have for $20. Message me if you are interested.

    Default RE Baba Sling

    Hi

I have been researching different slings on the market and am frustrated by the fact that none seem to be available from adelaide baby stockists. How can we make an informed decision when we buy online and can't return the product?

However I do like the look of Baba Sling and am interested in purchasing the 2nd hand one mentioned. If still available please reply.

    Smile baba sling

hi girls I was checking out some of those slings yesterday and I'd say the baba and similar ones are your best shot. They are so comfortable and dont put pressure on your back.
    Check out ebay!
    Hope this helps

Hi, did you ladies know that you can make one yourself? That way you get to choose your own fabrics and patterns. There are also ones that dun require sewing.

    Question baby rock sling

hi, i have a 2 week old boy named byron who is around 3kilos and 51.5cm. i purchased the baby rock sling ($90) from babies galore but when i tried to get some info from the website, it didn't exist. i'd like to be able to feed byron in the sling but am having a lot of trouble putting him in there. he seems to get lost in the netting and his back isn't very straight so it isn't ideal for feeding. am i right in assuming these slings are better for larger/older babies or is there a special technique to putting him in there? regards, carmel

As we are still on the subject of slings, my partner has decided that we are now past the use of slings and is willing to part with his navy blue baba sling. So if anyone is needing one, just drop me a message.
