    Hey guys

Just curious is ther others on here with children that totaly dont cope in the heat, Im sure there are just curious of how you help them with it.

We took miki out today to the harbour she had summer dress on and suncream, no hat but had her sunshade on her wheel chair ( not the big net just other the top but enough to not et sun on her), after being out of the car for like 5 minutes she was roasting hot and winge and limp ( limper then usual) sweating like mad we ended up going into the pub for lunch so she could cool of in the aircon, then walking back t the car she got roasting again and fever etc

Any tips on what to do, she will not last more then 10 minutes max in the sun with out wilting its crazy, I will get a soft ice pack to sit in her wheel chair insert but other then that i got no ideas

    what you guys do ???

    Aww poor Miki.

Umm my boy doesn't have any reactions as severe as that but he sure doesn't like being hot. He loves running around freely and yesterday was pretty hot, hot enough that we couldn't spend long outside and he was miserable.

I make sure I take plenty of chilled water. Umm is there anything else you could use to shade her? I take the pram shade and that seems to help.

I think the ice packs will be good for her

    Default sun shade

Hi, I really feel for you guys. I live in England, we are lucky to get sun for 2/3 mths of the year.
I have designed my own baby product and would be interested in your thoughts! Its a uv buggy blanket / sun cover that attaches to pushchairs etc.. Ps they can be custom made for wheelchairs etc.

I would say the same as above cold drinks etc Maybe freeze a bottle of juice.

We already have several products like that available downunder, they are designed to keep the insects out too.

Hi, we live near the coast in qld and it gets very hot here. One thing I found helpful when my kids were little is to get a spray bottle with cold water in it and turn the little dial on the nozzle so it would spray a really fine mist of water on them. They thought it was really funny and it helped to keep there body temp down.

i live in cairns so it gets pretty hot here in summer, when my kids were little they used to have a wet washcloth all the time. just to wipe their face

i know it sounds bizarre, but did she have full shoes and socks on? if you can keep feet and head cool the body is usually ok with the heat

Hi, will she eat or drink hydration ice blocks?

We don't have that problem but one of my girls gets hot & sweaty, tired and says she doesn't feel well if we are out on a hot day. We take plenty of icy cold drinks out with us but when DD3 is like that we give her a hydralite ice block the minute we get home and she always perks up quite quickly.

If we are planning on a big day out I get the liquid hydralite and put some in old pop top bottle in the freezer and take that just in case.

Sorry, your reply wasn't there when I started my reply.

That's a hard one the vest sounds good. My neice has a button but lucky we are able to syringe extra water/fluid on hot days. What about an extra ice pack or frozen damp face washer to cool her face and neck every so often in the meantime?
