    Default Washing new MCNS

Ok, so I have a stash of MCN's that I am surrently washing in preparation for my first who is due in 5 weeks time. One brand I bought recommended washing them 3 times to increase absorbency. I have 4 different brands all up:

    GreenKids
    PeaPods
    Baby Safari
    Hautes

So I have removed all the inserts from the nappies and washed the whole lot in a small amount of detergent once and dried, then washed in water once and dried, then water again and dried. I then reinserted the inserts and folded them ready for use.

Is this all I should need to do?

    Your good to go

Future reference - no need to dry between washes next time you have new nappies that need washing to increase absorbancy.

I just put mine on to wash 3 times, I didn't use any powder and didn't dry in between each wash, just started the machine each time it had finished.

You say you've reinserted the inserts and folded them ready for use - have you put liners in? I just find it easier if i have then liners in as well so all I have to do is grab a nappy & it's all ready to go.

Goodluck - how exciting a newborn stash!

Do you need liners in Peapods? I thought you just put the insert in that comes with the nappy?

liners r a personal preference. i find that its easier with BF poo so i can jst throw the liner out when its been dirtied, it stains the MCNs slightly less too!

There are a kind of flushable liner too, so poop goes straight down the loo and the nappy into the dry pail.

    Easy as.
