    Default English Child Protection Services

    Hi

Random question: Does anyone know who to contact regarding Child Welfare concerns in England? Or how I would find out?

My SIL lives in England and is being very neglectful of her 3 y.o. son and her family is not intervening. I am really concerned and would like it to be brought to the attention of authorities over there.

Is there anything I can do?

To be honest I doubt they would probably place much weight on someone trying to report something from the other side of the world IYKWIM? It's usually based on people who are close to the situation and observing behaviour rather than what you hear or perceive.

I KNOW stuff and my other SIL has just been over there looking after this poor child for 10 days, but has had to come back.

The family over there is doing nothing while this woman goes out and gets drunk every weekend and leaves her child locked in his room until the dad (who works night shift) comes home at midday. No one close to the situation is doing anything and it is just playing on my mind. Even if they dont do anything I need to try. She is planning a "house party" soon - how can you even think to have a house party with a three year old in the house?

She has also done things in the past which are questionable at best.

Others have just enabled her behaviour and I have sent her a supportive message saying i know it is hard being a young mum, adjusting etc and she sent me back abuse.

It just breaks my heart - her son is such a beautiful, bright child and she is screwing him up.
