Default Weepy eye - breastmilk cure??

    Hi there,
My 7 week old has a weepy left eye which goes yellow and crusty after a sleep. No redness or swelling just clear discharge. As new parents do, my husband and I took him to the hospital emergency ward 2 nights ago and they gave us drops to put in. Its still the same but I have heard that squirting a drop of breastmilk in his eye can clear it up faster. Has anyone tried this???
Was going to give it a go but thought putting milk in his eye sounded a little odd.
If its true breatsmilk really is amazing stuff!!

Definately give the breastmilk a go, it worked wonders when DS has the same thing a little while back.

Yep, I was told breastmilk too. It's most likely a blocked tearduct. Also, use a wet cotton ball and wipe from the inside of the eye to the outside to keep it clean. you can also try salt water.

I got my aim so good I could squirt directly into DS's eye! my CHN was VERY impressed that I could also get it up his nose for the sniffles!

Wow, you are pros, I had to express a bit and use an eye dropper to put the breastmilk in his eye. It proved to be very successful, all cleared up by the next day.
Thanks, will remember for the sniffles too!
