    Default Poly Joule

My DD dietitian has suggested that she starts on poly joule to help bump up her carb intake.
Can anyone please share their experiences with me,did they gain weight etc?
    Many thanks

Most kids gain lots of weight on poly joule.... My DD tried it but she got terrible diahorrea from it...she has an issue with sugar (and pretty much anything but Elecare), but the majority do really well on it!!! I don't know your child's history but if thats an issue then the next option is liquigen which is a fat rather than a sugar..the GI has to approve that though!!

I finally found a tin of poly joule, was 3 chemists later!
I made it up in a small cup of juice and she drank it right up.Will give it 48 hrs to see if there is a reaction fingers crossed.
Lexi your DD is doing so well that is an amazing weight gain what a champ .
I am hoping for a 50g a week increase just to bring her up to average.
    Thanks again for your help.

Jock used poly joule for about 6 or so months from when he was 18 months. Didn't gain any extra weight though...so we eventually gave it up as not working.
We had to source ours from the chemist too.

    Thank you for more replies.
Yep the dietitian suggested one scoop per day in a glass of juice, then she will be reweighed and the dose may change.
She told me to buy it from the chemist
Anyway it's been nearly a week and all going really well,no side effects to report.

wow. alex is still on 6 scoops a day and 36 scoops neocate. that makes her 1 1/4 neo and 4% poly. the most that she can have. they will be reviewing this in december though, and with alex's weight gain, im sure they'll drop it

We are still breastfeeding here,so the poly joule is to get one more carb loaded drink into her a day.The dietitian may increase this depending on weight gain.
I am very proud of her she is now drinking 150ml of Elecare at lunchtime, the first day she said it was yuck lol and now she asks for it!
