    Default would you have another?

ok so here is the hypothetical..

    your dh's dad has asperges

your dh has asperges which is on the autism spectrum.

your first child (son) has ASD now aswell

but your second child (girl) is fine.

would you have a 3rd child? if at %50 chance you would end up with a boy that would most likely be on the spectrum due to genetics...

im not thinking of having another yet but i want to know what other people would do in this situation.. please
My son = 3.10 PDD NOS and GDD Diagnosed June 1st 2010
My daughter = 2.4 Still breastfeeding
My husband = turning 26 Keeping me sane
    Me = 25 this year

    Starting each day fresh

Um hard one u would luv the child no matter what i guess the question is do u want another child? I never realy wanted kids (have 2 luv them to bits) but i def dont want anymore and i have a gf that has always wanted 3-4 but ds1 is a handful (she is seeing Dr.'s ect) and theres not much gap between ds1 and ds2 she wont have anymore yet as she thinks its too much to handle she thinks when oldest is at school she might rethink things.
U never no what will happen when u have a baby its hard cos theres no control anything could happen so u take a chance any way and only u no what/how much u can handle.
Is asperges a boy thing? I no of 2 kids with it both boys.

I have not been in that situation myself, but I think I would do it if I felt I could handle another AS child, but I would wait a bit until I had another if that is what I wanted to do.
Me 19, he two in July, we are doing full term breastfeeding

my 2year old is a complex medical, behavioural and development case. she is so far behind and is often so sick...

dh and i have just decided to start ttc!! I believe your only given what you can handel and we are given 'special' kids because god knows we'll do a great job.

I agree with another comment made "we are only given what we can handle" when the times right and if it's what you want go for it. I have one DS with ASD and another DS with a severe language disorder I am now a little to old for more but if I was younger wouldn't stop me.

FOr me personally, no i would not have another child if i had a 50% chance of Autism. But thats probably cause i don't want anymore children anyway, perhaps if i really longed for another child i would, i =guess i can't say as imnot in your situation.

Yes i would. My child with asd is a great kid, she accepts people for who they are. Please remember that many people at the top of their chosen fields have asd, eg. artist, musician. scientist etc...

You might have guessed that as I have just had number 5
