    Default Driving Anxiety Programs??

    Hi there

I first started driving almost 4 years ago and when i went for my license i compleatly froze and had an anxiety attack. obviously i failed. i went for it again not long after that as my instructor assured me i was a good driver (and my fam and friends thankfully thought so too lol) but the same thng happend again!

totally discouraged i stopped driving again with the intention of going back....

well i havnt exactly done that and no with no. 2 due in nov andmoving rural in feb (if house is completed) im really gonna have to go for it,

    except

every time i think of driving, i start getting palpertations and start sweating and just far too anxious all over again!

does anyone have any ideas as to any programs that might be avalible for anxious drivers? or some sort of drivers program/lession in melbourne???

    im getting desperate..

any other ideas would be very much appreciated!!!

    Default Racv

You poor thing, i hate driving and felt extreme anxiety. After a bit of trying i finally found an RACV instructor who had a lot of experience with anxious drivers. After years, i am driving again. I never thought i would do it. I cant thank him enough. My advice is keep trying RACV, hope you have the same experience as i did

Have you spoken to a psychologist? See your GP and talk to him and see if you can get a referral to see one. They can help with excersises to help combat it. I suffer bad anxiety and i thought it helped so much.

I hope you get it sorted out, i know how annoying it is
A friend will stick up for you and calm you down when your mad....... but a best friend will skip alongside you with a shovel giggling "someones gonna get it!"

i have spoken to a psychologist, and unfortunetly for me it doesnt seem to help. i do have medication (that i cant take atm due to pregnancy) but it doesnt do much to prevent the anxiety of driving.. oh well..... hopefully one day im able to pass the test and this will seem like a silly dream lol

    (i wish)

has anyone else experianced this? if so, what helped you?
