Can I teach myself how to sew?

Well I haven't sewn anything since school, but I really want to learn.

Is it possible to teach yourself? How could I go about doing this?

You most definitely can! Start simple is the best way . . so a basic sewing machine .. practice with all the stitches . . then start with pillow cases and that sort of thing . . then progress slowly into other things . .

There are now sewing patterns for Dummies. Its very basic stuff and has very clear step by step instructions.
