    Default Craft ideas for playgroup

I have collected dozens of those plastic scoops from my washing powder and am wondering what we could make out of them at playgroup.

I thought maybe turtles or snails by gluing on wool, pipe cleaners, sequins etc but unsure really as you couldn't paint or colour on them I don't think.

    Any ideas ?? muchly appreciated.

Also anyone have a playdough recipe that doesn't require cooking. Kids are toddlers to preschool age so needs to be really simple/basic ideas.

    TIA xxx

If you use boiling water instead of cold water in the playdough recipe you can knock out the cooking. Just add and stir.

You could cover the scoops with coloured celophane and make funny glasses, wind chimes/mobiles or get those wobbly eyes and put faces on them. They could also be turned into hats for dolls/teddies.

    Have a great time!

I found this method for playdough:

    Microwave Playdough
    1 cup plain flour
    ½ cup salt
    1 tablespoon oil
    1 tablespoons cream of tartar
1 cup water, with a few drops of food colouring added if desired

Beat all ingredients well, removing all lumps.
Place in a large covered microwave dish.
Cook on high for 5 minutes.
Stir into dough while hot and kneed into a ball when cooled

No! No cook at all - its a little grainy but is good as a general dough and is no cook...

    No Fuss Play Dough
    1 cup cold water
    1 cup salt
    2 teaspoons vegetable oil
    2 cups flour
    2 tablespoons cornstarch (cornflour)
    Food coloring
In a large bowl, mix together water, salt, oil and a few drops of food coloring. Mix flour and cornstarch and add 1/2 cup at a time, stirring constantly (you may need a little more or a little less than 2 cups flour so make sure you stir in until it is the right consistency). Knead for a few minutes with flour on your hands.
