Hey mate...maybe you're low in iron? Are you taking vitamins? Maybe you should get your iron levels checked to see if you need to take extra.

Hey there I'm exactly the same (17 weeks pregnant), thought it's eased a little since about 14 weeks. I haven't really found a solution yet unfortunately. I really think that sometimes pregnancy can cause this in some women and there isn't much you can do (daunting I know).

Some things that I can think of though; definitely get your iron checked. I was deficient when I started this pregnancy and I'm pretty certain that if I got them rechecked now, I'd be really quite low. I suffer this exact kind of fatigue when my iron levels drop.

You could possibly be tired because you aren't eating enough. I haven't been eating much because of the sickness and so on, I've also lost 6 kilos (though am size 18, so can spare it I guess!) But your body is making a baby and if you aren't feeding it a tonne of calories, you're going to totally feel tired. Some days, if I haven't eaten by 2pm, I'm to the point where I could fall asleep STANDING. After I've forced down something, my energy picks up a little. So maybe small regular snacks, even if you don't feel like it. I always found that there usually is something you can keep down, if constant vomiting is an issue.

Are you sleeping okay? I haven't been sleeping too well the past few months and I know that if I even have an hour or two less sleep, or a night's rough sleep - I'm completely wrecked the next day.

But maybe check with the doc and get her to run iron (and maybe other tests like thyroid - can make you really tired if it's malfunctioning). But I'm right there with you at least! It's horrid isn't it.

I hear you on not being able to tolerate my toddler. As they say each pregnancy is different and this time around I have found I have a really short fuse and poor DD seems to cop most of my temper. It leaves me feeling so guilty.

I found out that I am low in iron and that is partially what is making me tired. The other part is trying to keep up with a very energetic and demanding 2yr old. Just try to remember that a 2 yr old uses more energy in 1 day than we do in a week so its no wonder we are tired.

Try to snack when your toddler snacks, a little cracker here and a piece of apple there can help keep up energy levels and if your toddler sleeps then you put your feet up, don't worry about the housework it will get done even if it is not until the weekend. Try also to go to bed early and just relax if you can't fall asleep.

I know how your feeling and it feels like I haven't slept in months but it will hopefully get better soon

This is my first bub, and I'm 7 and a half weeks along. So I know nothing about anything. I wasn't even planning on having a bub at all so it was something of an unexpected shock, although I'm getting excited now.
I kind of assumed being this tired was normal. I just feel like I can barely move at times. I could pack my wardrobe in the bags under my eyes.
I am a teacher so have 30 of other people's little darlings each day.
I actually have the opposite of not enough iron. I have haemachromatosis which is where the body doesn't get rid of iron easily, so the bub should be keeping my levels down for me to a healthy level.
Anyhow, enough moaning... I'm just about ready for bed... Which I am just about anytime of the day!
Welcome to the world Kian David.

I hope it gets easier for you. I know having a toddler and being pregnant is far harder than working because when you are working you still get time to yourself after hours however with a toddler they never give up. It is just hard. Be kind to yourself and maybe get someone to watch your toddler or find an occasional care centre so you can catch up.

I agree about the comment regarding iron.

Elevit doesn't contain iron (or not much). I was also taking it and my midwife recommended I take something with more iron, such as Fefol Multipreg

I hope you feel better soon
When I cry, I am not being naughty or misbehaving; I am not being unreasonable. Please listen to me when I am feeling this way. I know it's hard to listen to me cry. Listen to me so that I don't repress these feelings and turn bitter when I get older. Please don't distract me. I need to deal with these feelings. Offer me hugs and support. Stay with me when I cry. Listen.. Keep listening..

    Hiya

Same boat as you but 24wks now, couldn't eat b4 4pm btween wk 3-12 same size as you and lost 9 kg all up. Wk 12-17ish had migranes every week, being fat everyone worried it might be pre eclampsia BUT my wonderful GP checked iron and of course, it's rock bottom... I have weird RBC's which are flatter (less concave) and smaller than normal so iron doesn't bind to the haemoglobin and can't be absorbed into the body.

Very difficult trying to up iron levels when the body doesn't take it... still tired most afternoons. Bad thing is it's exhaustion that can't be fixed by a cat nap (IF only we had time for those!!!)

GoldenGlow.com.au are a fantastic AUSSIE owned company with AMAZING prices, FULL ingredients lists and high elemental content than most BIG brand vitamins and minerals, I have a supplement higher in iron and folate than any other supplement on the market AND it's not even pregnancy specific!
If you are low in ANYTHING I recommend them, they post Aus wide CHEAP and can send a free glossy catalogue to you (I should be getting paid for this plug!?!?) I felt really bad not eating but if I could just get in 1 pill a day I felt like I was doing something
