    Default Persistant Headaches... something bad?

    Hi Girls,

I'm 21wks and i've been having headaches now for the past week! Pretty much from when i get up in the morning to when i go to bed. Pressure in my head & the occasional sharp pain in my left temple. I've been to the chiro twice because I thought it might be my neck (which he did say was bad.. & it does feel a bit stiff), but i'm still having them!

Other than the headaches i'm feeling pretty good. Slight swelling in my hand & feet but not too bad. I've had great blood pressure at every check up i've had so i'm hoping it's nothing like pre-eclampsia. I hope i'm just being paranoid!

I'm on holidays at my parents until Tuesday & fly home. I've made an appointment with my gp for that afternoon, & I have my midwife app on Wednesday afternoon. Would this be too late?

I'm starting to get worried! And it's really starting to get me down. I can feel bub kicking so I guess he's not too affected.

Anyone been through this kind of thing or have any ideas?? I'd really appreciate it!

    Cheers!

    Hi
I think your doing the right thing going to the doc. Headaches can be caused for a few reasons.
    ·Could be dehydrated
·Something to do with your hormones in pregnancy
    ·Or the signs of PE
I suffered with them bad around the same time too. As I had a history of PE it was keep a close eye on. I'm almost 34 weeks and they settled down around 25 weeks… my doc put it down to my hormones and tiredness…
I found taking some panadol helped…. And warm tea or herbal tea helps. I felt like I was taking so much panadol…..
I hope you’re feeling better soon; I know the feeling of persistent headaches….

If there is somewhere you can go to get your BP checked, i'd do that just to be careful. PE can arrive very suddenly in some cases, so if you can it might just be worth a qucick check. But as already said, they can be caused by heaps of things, not just PE, so try not to worry too much. If you are away from home at the moment, that maybe causing you a bit of stress, and your diet/water intake may not be the same as at home, so your body may just be reacting to all the changes.

Thanks girls. I've been conscious of staying hydrated & even guzzled some hydralite today. Made me more nausious than anything

Do you think if I just popped into the local hospital tomorrow they'd just check my blood pressure? Apparently the doctor in town is useless & you have to wait a long time for an appointment.
