Unhappy Decided to leave her alone..

Ive been thinking and came to a much thought about desicion.

    Due to MIL's advice,

    She thought it would
be a good idea to put baby
in her own room form day 1.

I was hesitant coz she will be soo small. But ive found a thing ont the net call Respisense baby moniter?, Its a thing you clip on their nappy and it detects rythmic breathing, and if the child stops breathing for say 15 seconds an alarm goes off to let the parents know.

Im now pretty confident about putting her in her own room as this seems like a good idea..
ANy feedabck ont his product..please give advice as im still a litle worried about putting her in there alone...

I think once the baby is born you will want baby to sleep in your room with you and you can still use the monitor aswell..

Don;t listen to your MIL -its your decision and there is no right or wrong whether she sleeps with you or in another room..

ps i think it can be easiar when babys in your room, just pick bubba up and bring baby to bed with you for a cuddle or feed + less worrys when babys in the room with you

    Hi,
You can probably type the name of this product in your search bar e.g Google or Yahoo and it should bring up stuff about it and hopefully a site that has done reviews on it.

    Good luck

We have an angel care monitor, and I moved my son in his own room at 4 months, and he slept better not hearing us. My daughter slept in a room with me untill 8 months, and she slept like a log any way, so i guess it just depends on the baby as to how well they sleep and where.
My son still liked to hop in bed with us and slept better co sleeping sometimes.
Any ways I do think the monitor is a great idea, I don't know the costs of the one you have but the angel care one we got on sale for $140, it just gives you that extra peice of mind.
I can't go to bed, someone is wrong on the internet.

We put dd in her own room when she was 1 week old only because we found we were not getting a proper sleep because we got up to every noise. we used a angel care monitor sensor thingy and a baby monitor with a big cam, and next to my bed I had a big monitor set up and could see dd and it had infrared night vision. was great and worked well

Okay so i am going to be out there, but just to let the other BH's out there Me and the OP chat on msn and know eachother....so....

    DONT LISTEN TO YOUR MIL!

You are going to be a fantastic mum and you can decide what you and your man want for your little girl. NOT YOUR MIL!

I know you are nervous about being a first time mummy but i just know that your little princess is going to be just fine with YOUR decisions as its your own family!!!!!

personally i wouldnt put my newborn in their own room, but that is just me. You need to do whats best for you and your family!!!!!

Our kids all slept in their own room from day one, our house wasn't that big, and believe me, you will hear them when they cry It was more convenient as everything was there, our room was small and DH had to get up and make big logical decisions at work the next day!

MIL's are entitled to their opinions and you can listen and thank her nicely and then you make the decisions what you both want to do as a couple.

Oh and don't forget..you may just be MIL's yourselves one day!!!

Shiraaa, basically it comes down to this. If, God Forbid, something is going to happen, it will happen, even if you're right beside them, next to the room, halfway down the street. Cause don't forget you've got to sleep too. Do what you are comfortable with, and tell your MIL to shove it, and ask if she'd like to stay up all night and keep an eye on the baby for you instead.

I have a respisense monitor, but its designed to be heard in the same room, as it isn't particularly loud. I bought one due to a family history of SIDS and I'm pretty sure it saved my son once, I heard it go off and got up out of bed to find him pale and not breathing, I picked him up and gently tapped his cheek and he took a huge breath. I got the shock of my life, but I'm grateful he had it on, sometimes they do just knock it off and the alarm will sound though.

Dont listen to anyone but yourself as to what to do with your baby. We have our baby in our room and he is 6 months now.
Welcome Bailey, born 6th November 09
