Steam up your bathroom (turn shower on hot and let it run til room is full of steam) then sit in there and breath it in for as long as you can. Will help clear all the cr*p out

I had a similar thing around the same time - I went for Fes nose spray (it's a saline spray just like for the babies and you can use it for as long as you want to) and then regular steaming (you know, head under a towel with a bowls of boiled water) with a capful (depending on how bad you are) of Vicks Vaposteam. Panadol is ok too if you need it and vicks vapour drops. You can also get a little device you plug into a light socket and put a little menthol pad in it, it's called Sudaclear, you can get all this from the chemist. Run that at night, sleep slightly elevated, invest in good tissues, hot showers, try and get some rest, keep a glass of water by the bed.

You can actually use some of the full on nose spray degongestants for a couple of days, they are safe, and particularly good if you are just desperate for a good nights sleep.

    Good luck with it all.

If you are up for it give a Neti pot a looking at.

They are 100% medicine free which is very important during pregnancy.

I have only ever heard good things about them.

you can have some antihistimines during pregnancy that are safe... they didnt help me at all but i know that you can get them - ask your doctor or chemist. the one my chemist gave me was in a pink box. the only problem is that it makes you drowsy.

Just keep in mind that many antihistamines have a chemical in them that can greatly deplete milk production. I know you aren't BFing yet but it would be worth keeping in mind.

Demazin is safe for pregnancy, but I would be wary of taking it. I found that when my sinuses got blocked up then I would feel WORSE if medication I took made me feel super drowsy.

The colour you described would make me think it might be a good idea to take a trip to the Dr to check it out.

i dunno about the milk thing, but as far as it being safe in pregnancy, it is perfectly safe... 2 of my professor's at the hospital antenatal clinic, a midwife at the clinic and the chemist ALL told told me it is perfectly safe. not all antihistimines are safe, but there are 3 or 4 that are.

I know I was thinking that too
But the neti pot idea is a fab one! I have used one before and they are wonderful! They really clean out your sinus and any irritants.

Thanks youngmumof6- I have also heard that there are a couple of brands of antihistamines that you CAN take during pregnancy. I might make trip to my chemist and see if they sell neti pots and ask about the antihistamines because I am sneezing during the night also.

    Thanks again ladies
