Default The car seat thingy again... Whats your arrangement?

As above.. What is your arrangement as far as car seats and safety go?

What seats do you have for your kids, how old are they and how long will they be in them?

well, as it is now, my DD1 who is four, is in a maxi rider, and has been in that since 2 years old when DD2 came about, and DD2 is in a baby love roalty Im pretty sure, and has been since birth,

Now number 3 is half way here, DD1 will be going into a high liner, as she is quite tall, and I brought a full harness for it too, and DD2 will be going into the maxi rider, and bub no 3 will be going into the baby seat.

I have a safe and sound meridian that i just recently bought. It is excellent and will easily last my DD till she is 4 1/2 i would say. It has an adjustable head restraint which gives extra side impact protection. DD had an igc seat but they are shorter at the back so wont last as long/

the best way to tell how long a seat will last is to measure the top slot for the harness. All safe and sound carseats have the top slot at 40cm (except for the Compaq seat). Other brands have the top slot at 35cm so wont last your child as long.

the meridian allows you to rear face your child till 12kg to which is great!

I have just done extensive research on the carseats so if you want some good sites just pm me

With number 2 on the way we are going to get a Infa Trek 8 for DD as she fitted in it better than in the Maxi (she just rattled around in it - she is only just over 10kg) and the new bub will go into DD's Babylove reversible carseat. We thought that this was the best way to go as it seemed silly to buy a new baby seat for bubs then go out in a couple of years and get 2 boosters.

DD1 is 4 and is in a booster seat without the back bit and DD2 is 20 months old and in a baby seat ( dont know the name - something royal)

When Ds comes then DD1 will be in a Hi-liner DD2 will be in a maxirider and Ds will be in the rear faced seat.

My DS is 19 mths old and in a maxi rider. We went out and bought one after I saw a you tube video which was about a child who was killed in an accident because he wasn't in a seat with a 5 point harness. They can stay in the maxi rider until they weigh 26 kgs.
For the new bub we will use a rear facing car seat at first (which we already had for DS) and then we will get another maxi rider as soon as bubs is big enough to go in it (8kgs).

DS is in a safe and sound car seat which goes from newborn to 18kgs - I think thats the max. We had a capsual until he was about 4 months and got too long for it so we got that one as it was a rear facing one that can be turned around. He was rear facing until about a month ago and not its forward facing. I tried to hold off as long as I could but he just hated the car so much no matter what I did. So when he was 8 months I turned it around. I didnt feel so bad when I spoke to most ppl who said they turned their bubs around at 3 months!

DS is in the Babylove Royale, we're getting one for this baby too. It's rear facing for up to 12 kilos. DS is 3 years & still fits in it perfectly. He is a small 3 year old though.
