    Default What puppy to get

We are thinking of getting a pup (which will grow into a small dog) and dont know which breed to get (I know nothing about breeds of dogs)

This is my situation...I have a DS who is almost 3 and a DD almost 1. We have a small mini foxie who is about 8-9 yrs old. We thought we would get a dog to keep him company and a dog that is fun with children.
    Can anyone recommend any breeds?

Apparantly King Charles Cavaliers are one of the best breeds to suit families with young children. Cavaliers have lovely temperaments, are easy to train and are a great size (and pretty damn cute IMO).

I would vote for a Cav, also. Make sure you get one from a registered breeder. It is no more expensive than a pet shop, and you get to meet the parents and other doggy relatives. Also, registered breeders breed to get rid of genetic problems. Backyard breeders usually have no clue about genetics, and the dogs they are breeding from are usually ones that registered breeders have deemed unfit to breed with.

    Have a look here.

some of it depends on your other dog he is older and has been on his won for a while, if he has never lived with another dog you may have some problems initially, there are several great small breeds of dog but no matter what the breed it is how they are raised and the time and training you put into them i would suggest puppy preschool, good luck
