Default Anyone else have an angelic child?

OK now this thread may seen annoying or wierd but I am being very genuine and not smug here .

My son is 15 months old and has been in and out of hospital for approximatly 5 months of that.

Barely a day goes by for us when someone says 'oh what a good baby', when he first came home from SCN he cried due to reflux but once he was medicated for that he hardly ever cried. My MIL actually claimed she had never heard him cry for months but she knew he wasnt deaf because we have had him tested.

He has slept through the night from 8 months and settles best in his cot.

He is always happy and content and even when having x rays or injections he doesnt cry (perhaps because he is so used to them).

When he was very sick and I was emotional I was convinced he was too good for this world, but now I know that's the wrong way too think and I should cherish him which I do .

Sometimes I worry though, if his being so sweet natured may mean he doesnt get the attention he deserves from teachers or other people because the louder more attention seeking kids will be taking it.

Odd thing to worry about I know

I dont really mind that people say he is good or brave or an old soul or whatever but sometimes I wonder why.

On occasion they can both be so calm and special.

I must admit, sometimes them fighting or being difficult is not a problem.. But they have their moments.

Some babies/children are just easier to please/settle or are more comfortable than others.

DD as a baby was an absolute dream (once I stopped trying to shove my boobie in her mouth that is ). She rarely cried, woke up, had a feed and went back to sleep. She slept 4 hrs at a time ... from about 8 weeks when she started waking up more she was happy in her swing or laying on the floor, had a little whinge when she was hungry or tired - and provided I nursed her - went straight to sleep.

She slept through from 7 - 6ish from 14 weeks, and even on the odd occasions when she woke up during the night, I popped her dummy back in or gave her a feed and back to sleep she went.

Of course when she got her teeth (all at once - 9-12 months ish) she was a nightmare ... I found that soooo much harder than when she was a newborn.

Even now as a 2 yr old she is a placid natured sweet little thing. Starting some more tantrums now - but mostly is an easy child - for which I thank my lucky stars every day!!!!!

Griff is a dream now that the reflux is under control.

Although his big brother does seem to want to make him into a devil lol !

But no he self settles unless its a bad nite, loves cuddles & is just easier in so many ways compared to Boof.

    So he is my little

yeah i got one a these. been sleeping through since 9 weeks, loves her day sleeps, never cries about them. can get a bit tetchy when tired but you can always work it out. happy gurgling, laugha a lot, interactive and sharp, keen to lsten to books, good concentration span...i could go on and on.

the ONLY downside is that number 2 could be a nightmare in comparison and that she hasnt really "broken us in at all". I think though that, we have just as gooda chance at getting another one like this as we do to getting a more (significantly)difficult one.
Isn't she lovely, isn't she wonderful!

my son has never been a difficult child, the tantrums are starting now, but all in all i think he is a well balanced, well behaved and well mannered little boy. Which really does concern me, cos now everyone has started on the "you wont know what to do if this baby is a shocker" etc etc. I wonder if it is that we just got lucky, and that this baby will be the total opposite. Because really we have had it easy this time round.

Naiwen he sounds so cute and don't stress too much about school / teachers etc. I used to get a lot of attention because I was (for most of my school years) a goody-two-shoes. The teachers really liked me because I was polite to them.

Anyways, my boy is fairly angelic. I remember when his dad & I got him home we both said "aren't babies meant to cry" he was such a content little bub - you wouldn't hear a peep from him when he was being held.

I've only had a handful of bad days with him - all due to my own anxieties / stress / tiredness. He acts up when I'm stressed, I think he gets a bit scared the poor little thing.

He was a bad sleeper from around 3 months to 9 months though

Ok well it's great to hear I am not alone!

Shanz, I have had people say too me 'when you have the next one you won't know you are born!' I think they assume if you have one angelic baby your next will be high stress!

Myztik perhaps I should not worry if they change at four hey!

    Snakeseeker you bub sounds adorable.

Ally I will put you down as having one angelic child shall I? Or is that two!

Katiesmum your DD sounds just as sweet natured as mine, lol maybe they get it from their mothers!

Nibble that's a partially angelic bub?
