Egg Donor – our only chance

My husband and I have endured the heartache of more than 8 years of unsuccessful IVF attempts. We have been advised to seek an egg donor as our only hope to have a child. Though my husband has two adult sons, I am longing for a child. It is an incredible gift that someone else can give us and should not be done without considerable thought and knowledge about the procedure. I wrote this advertisement to go into a newspaper. However, on this website, the words seem cold in an environment where you are all so warm and caring. You should know that I am now 39 and my husband 58 so this is an urgent plea for my husband’s sake as much as mine. We would love our prospective donor to live in Melbourne to make access to Monash IVF easier and preferably be Caucasian.

Good luck with everything. I totally understand the placing an advertisement in Victoria thing. We are very restricted and I am not sure if once you post it whether you are allowed to ammend it or not. I am still waiting on my approval through the post. I had a confirmation via email. How long did it take for you to have your advertisement approved? I found that process a bit daunting and there wasn't alot of information around about what can and can't be included.

I have been lucky to have 1 child from an annonymous (sperm) donor and I am currently pregnant with no #2 from the same donor.
So I hope my story will give you some hope of having a child in the near future
