Default I think that my three year old

Is actually an alien scout, sent from the mothership to discover how far a very tired, stressed, tired, stressed person can be pushed before they go completely insane.

All you hear is "terrible two's" terrible two's aint got nothing on the complete and utter gzzughhhmmm-ness that is three.

DD has always been "spirited" she has "spirit" coming out of her bottom, but heaven's to betsy! The whinging, the constant, blooming whinging, and yelling, and YELLING and defiance! She spends more time IN time out than OUT. No simple request can just be met - "Millie, it's time to get dressed" "NO!!!" sigh. I just feel worn out with the constant battle....I am fed up with her, sometimes I wish she would just go away...

How do I get through three - without going more nuts and without scarring my girl for life?

My son must have come on the same ship...

I was actually warned that it doesnt get better after the terrible 2's, that 3's are worse... Lately DS is letting me know that, and letting everyone else around us know that too....

When I work it out, I'll let you know...are all I can offer....

I know how you feel every day pretty much (although I can count on one hand per day it happens) I am met with No, her running away, refusing to do something etc. Not sure about Millie but for Eliza it's that tiny bit of less attention from me. Yesterday she had a tantrum. I went lay on my bed did some deep breathing and used all my will power to not speak or look at her once. She then came & asked me to read her a story.

Do you know why she is acting up? Does she go to nursery? Might be time to send her lol. I know I have Eliza down to start in Jan but I might try to get her in sooner as I know she needs a lot of stimulation & I can't give her enough.

I KNOW she needs more attention than I can give her right now - Hamish sucks it all up.
She won't go to kindy until 2010 And there's nothing else available here. We go to playgroup together and reading group...Poor love, she tells me all the time, she just wants to do an "ucktivity"

I could have written that post myself. My son has just turned three and silly me thought that maybe we would be on the road to stress free life, boy was I wrong he is more demanding and bossy than ever and an attitude that would give any rock star a run for their money.

I live in hope that age four is the good year, I just have 12 months to wait.

We could always hope that the ship comes back!!!

    You are not alone
