Do you have a baby shower for subsequent pregnancies?

I like the idea of a 'welcome to the world' party- after the baby is born have a morning tea/lunch for family and friends to come and welcome the baby (and bring gifts if they wish!).

My in laws did this for my sister in law, as they are Macedonian, and apparently they dont have baby showers but "welcome to the world" parties.
I think its better in a way, as at least you know what gender it is.

I don't see a problem having multiple showers, afterall, why should we celebrate the imminent birth of our first but not subsequent children? For women that have one or more kids already, she would already have most of the bits and pieces from previous children. In those cases I think just a really small gift like some baby lotion or a box of chockies for the mum would be fine.
