Oh yes- I couldn't get out of there fast enough! And Pregnant women (at 8mths pregnant) dont 'retreat into themselves' very well
I walked out of there as fast as my fat self would carry me.

Oh and I have no idea if it's fact or fiction- I didn't
    try it

Massage of the perinium with oil can help but not something you'd discuss at a check out

The raising arms above shoulder height one is more to do with stretching/ripping muscles I think.

Put cake of soap at the end of your bed to stop restless legs, is old wives tale but does actually work.

Pregnant women shouldn't go to the circus or the zoo (maybe because hygiene years ago was sus?)

My mother swears by this (not with steel wool though) she said to use a nail brush to prepare your nipples. Then I said to her "fat lot of good that torture did as you did not breast feed any of us!!!" She just laughed

I have heard about the oil for your peri also, but not from some deaf old lady at the checkout!!
Its funny that because you are pregnant people think they can just tell you the most obscure things usually in the most inappropriate places.

I am sure they mean well and its good for a laugh later on

Yes I have heard that one, I think it used to be true when women did not eat enough calcium so the baby leached it from their bones including their teeth.

I heard - Jumping of a chair can cause a miscarrige!

As if I wanted to jump of a chair lol.
